Edward M. McFerran has serviced as President and managing Shareholder of Tax Deferred Exchange Services, Inc., a national Qualified Intermediary company. In that capacity, Mr. McFerran's professional practice has focused on tax planning for clients throughout the United States in the tax deferred exchange arena, advising taxpayers, exchangors, accountants, trustees, Qualified Intermediaries and escrow agents. In addition, Mr. McFerran has himself served as Qualified Intermediary in literally thousands of transactions throughout the United States.

Mr. McFerran's practice as an attorney has been as a partner in the Tacoma, Washington based law firm of McFerran Burns & Stovall, P.S., whose professional practice focuses primarily on real estate, business and tax matters.

Mr. McFerran is also President of Attorneys Title of Washington, providing a full range of title and escrow services in Pierce and Thurston Counties in the State of Washington.

Mr. McFerran is a frequent speaker on tax and law matters sponsored by bar associations, accounting groups and other various private industry groups. Mr. McFerran is a graduate of Seattle University Alber's School of Business. He received his law degree with honors in 1987 from the University of Puget Sound School of Law.


Martin Burns is the managing partner with the law office of McFerran Burns & Stovall, P.S., as well as Vice President and house counsel of Tax Deferred Exchange Services, Inc. Mr. Burns has passed the Certified Public Accountants Examination and focuses his legal practice in real estate law from both a transactional and litigation standpoint. Mr. Burns has tried numerous cases and has successfully argued appeals through the Washington State Court of Appeals and Supreme Court. Under the law office umbrella, Mr. Burns' firm also provides title, escrow and tax deferred exchange services.

Mr. Burns obtained his Bachelor degree in Accounting from the University of Puget Sound and graduated from the University of Puget Sound School of Law, cum Laude, in 1993. He has practiced in the Puget Sound region of Washington his entire legal career. Mr. Burns is a frequent speaker to real estate investors and real estate professionals.


Mr. Stovall joined Tax Deferred Exchange Services, Inc. and the firm of McFerran Burns & Stovall, P.S. in 2002 after a successful career in business including executive level experience in Marketing and Operations Management. His practice presently focuses on real estate, commercial and business transactions.

Mr. Stovall is a 1994 graduate of Pacific Lutheran University where he earned a Bachelor in Business Administration degree, cum laude. In 2000, Mr. Stovall earned his J.D., cum laude, from Seattle University School of Law.


Nathan Sukhia joined Tax Deferred Exchange Services, Inc. and the firm of McFerran Burns & Stovall, P.S. in March 2003 and has made an instant impact as an account executive for tax deferred exchanges and in aggressively and creatively representing clients in litigation. He is a graduate of the University of Tennessee Law School and is focusing his practice on real estate and commercial litigation, as well as transactional work. His prior practice involved real estate, bankruptcy, foreclosure, landlord tenant matters and collection services. Mr. Sukhia's experience includes military service as a police officer as well as clerkships with a Federal District Court Judge and the United States Attorney in East Tennessee. He lives in Tacoma with his wife and sons.
